Katrin Angela Zugehör and Sven Hofmann take charge of Kalea’s destiny as Chef de Service and Managing Director, respectively. The proven pair of restaurateurs – who previously worked together at Kempinski – have an exceptional eye for quality, honed over the past twenty years in the high-end gastronomy and hotel industry in Zermatt, Bern and above all St. Moritz. As wine lovers and gourmets, they bring fresh culinary trends to Lake Maggiore and read their guests’ faces to gauge their every wish. The members of the Kalea team are selected with great care, just like the restaurant’s ambience, its recipes, ingredients and matching wines. When it comes to service, foresight and friendliness are Katrin and Sven’s top priorities.

Chef de Cuisine

Behind the scenes, Head Chef Oliver Kuehler conjures up Mediterranean sharing plates and sumptuous set menus for you. During his varied career, which began at the Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, Oliver has travelled the world, cooking for stars and starlets from the film and music industry as well as political leaders from all corners of the globe. Aside from Berlin, he has worked in St. Moritz, London, Thailand, Malaysia and Vancouver. Oliver describes his cooking style as “classic French with European influences and a modern twist”.
